Winter Formal! WOOT WOOT. Wow, THAT was a NIGHT. A wonderful one, at that. This is how the evening went down:
My date for Winter Formal was Lauren Beale, which may be obvious from the previous post. At around 2 in the afternoon, I picked up the Corsage and a rose from Conroy's. The Corsage was beautifully made with two red roses and one white one. Well, around 3ish, I began my work on my stubborn hair and slapped on the ol' tux from Friar Tux. Yea, it was hot, with a double meaning. The bow tie...very shnazzy. 4 o'clock rolled around and my parents, mostly my mom, got into the whole "oh, he's all grown up" mood. My mom pulled out the camera, of course and you probably know thow the story goes.
4:30, *ding dong* at Lauren's house. The door opens *angels sing* and Lauren is so gorgeous in her strapless red dress. I handed her the corsage and then the rose, met her parents, and dum dum dum, she attempts to put on the boutinier for her first time. With a few tips of advice the boutinier is on and stable within seconds. Yea, she's a natural. *Ding dong*It's Emily in a pretty maroonish-eggplant colored dress =). After passing the house and then doing his famous U turn, Meit arrives. Well, both Lauren's and Emily's parents take picture after picture. We got more attention than runway models. After the camera flashes stopped, we hopped into Meit's Corolla and were off to Canyon H.S.
When we arrived we met up with Abe and waited in line for couple pictures. Ashley seemed to have forgotten that she was supposed to arrive at 5:18 and 32 seconds. So, we stepped out of line and began the longest 10 minutes ever jk. we slipped back into the line and Ashley arrives in her lovely pink dress. After our couple pictures were taken, we met Joe and Mai and did our whole "I promise to take a picture with you at the dance" deal.
We were off in the Corolla again. This time we were headed to Moreno's with a little detour to Emily's house for her student ID. Well, we arrived at Moreno's and there they were, Abe and Ashley, standing there waiting for us. As for cell phones, no one answered. The food was good, and Meit didn't die. However, fire trucks and police cars periodically drove by (in case). I think they new Meit all too well. Our meal was accompanied by a Mariachi band and a very very friendly waiter. Helpful hint: don't follow me and sit on your corsage - the result isn't very satisfying.
We left for Knott's and Abe and Ashley apparently stopped for Del Taco on their way. After finally getting into the theme park, we searched for the dance hall, and then split to Ghostrider. Wow! That was awesome! All, except for the fact that I accidently put the safety bar down too far, too tight. Mai was worried about the flower in her hair falling out. It was amusing...
To dance hall we went right after the ride finished, and we shoved all of our accesories into the cheap paper bags, and we danced the night away. The dance room was a little tight but it served its prupose. The DJ....ew, he must have been hired from meat factory, cuz he butchered the songs. Not many transitions were "flowy" and he totally messed up one of the songs. BUT, that's all ok because I had a great time. Oh, one of Ashley's dress straps snapped (and no, nothing was revealed). It actually looked more modernish.
Lauren made it through the entire night in heals. Wow, talk about endurance. Everyone got a chance to rest back at Abe's house for the after-party/ lazy-fest. We were all treated with spagetti and dumplings by Abe's fabulous parents. Jen served the drinks so Mad props to JEN! Well I went home ata round 1:30 AM and then crashed into my bed.
So, that's my story. All in all, the night was fantastic. Thank you again, Lauren for being a wonderful date.
